Midnight in Ilulissat

Standard

We are in Ilulissat, Greenland, several hundred kilometres above the Arctic Circle. The true midnight sun ended a few weeks ago, but you can see from the picture that it’s still light enough to take a walk or read by ambient light.

We had several firsts in the past 48 hours, including wrapping up a wonderful time in the Faroe Islands, getting an exclusive package at the Blue Lagoon, and flying for 3 hours from Reykjavík to Ilulissat above the Greenlandic Ice Sheet in a Dash-8 at 18,000 ft. Weather was clear for most of the flight and the scenery was spectacular. Took lots of pics but the windows were iced/fogged up so many didn’t turn out.
